Job Summary :
Independently works off assessment skills to activate patient care protocols to deliver patient care within his / her full scope of practice as defined by the state of Tennessee and LifeFlight's scope of practice.
Maintains compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Safety transport patients utilizing Vanderbilt and Unit specific safety, policy and procedure and accreditation standards.
Maintains equipment per regulatory and compliance standards. Responsible for effective communication to ensure safe and quality patient care with team, transport and handover.
Shifts : Variable shifts to include some nights, weekend and holidays.
Department Summary :
LifeFlight Ground EMS started with a single ambulance in the fall pf 2011, and after several expansions now includes a fleet pf 21 Advance Life Support (ALS) equipped ground ambulances operating from four locations in the Middle Tennessee areas : Nashville, Wilson County (Lebanon), Coffee County ( Tallahoma) and Montgomery County ( Clarksville).
These ambulances predominantly focus on interfacility transfers and discharges from Vanderbilt affiliated medical facilities , with the ability to also support non- Vanderbilt facilities.

Assessing, Intervening & Stabilizing Patients (Novice) : Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate assessing, intervening and stabilizing patients in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
