Vanderbilt University is Hiring a Senior Program Coordinator, Vanderbilt Policy Accelerator Near Nashville, TN

The Sr. Program Coordinator is part of the Vanderbilt Policy Accelerator (VPA) in the Law School at Vanderbilt University and is a key individual contributor responsible for supporting the VPA’s operations and program coordination. This position reports administratively to the Executive Director and functionally to the Faculty Director of VPA. The Vanderbilt Policy Accelerator (VPA) focuses on a small number of cutting-edge topics in political economy and regulation. We bring research, education, and policy proposals in these areas from infancy to maturity and periphery to centrality. We cultivate, grow, and spread research, education, and policy ideas—and at a pace that aligns with the urgency of today's challenges. We are currently in the midst of a political economy revolution. From antitrust to trade, swift changes are taking place that are reshaping how policymakers and the general public think about economic policy. These changes create an opportunity to advance new paradigms, research, and policy ideas. We are action focused. Each project we undertake seeks to accelerate developments in education, research, policy, and public debate.

Key Functions and Expected Performance:

Work in coordination with the VPA Faculty Director, Executive Director, and others in support of VPA’s operations and programming.

• Work closely with faculty director and executive director in support of building and operating VPA.
• Coordinate conferences, workshops, guest speaker and other event programming.
• Coordinate human resources tasks.
• Coordinate management of press and communications including review and maintenance of web pages for the VPA website.
• Coordinate project management.
• Assist with general outreach and development efforts.
• Assemble payment requests and procurement orders for Oracle Procurement Requestors. Maintain documentation of research related expenditures, familiarity with university COA and POET numbers.
• Design event posters, fliers, signage, and conference materials.
• Provide knowledge management support, updating and organizing institutional resources.
• Maintain documentation of program related expenditures and advise Executive Director on budget.
• Coordinate complex meeting/conferences/event logistics and program budgetary activities with Finance & Administrative Services.

Supervisory Relationships:

This position does not have supervisory responsibility; the position reports administratively to the Executive Director and functionally to the Faculty Director of VPA.

Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree is necessary.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience is necessary. Experience in a higher education setting is preferred. Candidates should have an interest in economic policy, political economy, regulation, and/or law.
  • Ability to demonstrate maturity, creativity and initiative is necessary.
  • Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects is necessary. Relocation to Nashville is necessary.
