Senior Backend Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Backend Data Engineer to help build new machine learning services and products within our multi-terabyte data lake. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team that includes deep learning experts, software engineers, and officers from all branches of the military. We also do something common in Silicon Valley tech companies but radical in the defense space: we develop and test products side-by-side with our users, including on US military bases and remote locations abroad. What You’ll Do

• Work with development teams and product managers to ideate user experience, product and software solutions
• Build ETL pipelines to load data in/out of ML systems
• Write effective APIs to serve ML and LLM solutions
• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
• Write technical documentation

Qualifications

• 4 years as a Backend, ML Infra, or MLOps Engineer or similar role
• Experience with Python
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience working with ML services
• Experience with Spark or any large-scale data processing engine
• Familiarity with relational databases and data warehousing solutions
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
