People and Culture Department
The People & Culture (P&C) Team at Vantage is lean, effective, well-respected, and growing. Each member of our P&C team plays a pivotal role in making high-impact decisions, resulting in a more dynamic and productive work environment.
Position Overview
This role is ideally based in Santa Clara, CA but we may be open to one residing in Phoenix, AZ, Denver, CO or Ashburn, VA or Dallas/Fort Worth or South Texas locations in our major data center locations. Those with California Labor Laws highly preferred.
Travel for this role may be up to 15% as business need require, however, more likely 2-3 trips per year.
As a member of the company’s People team, the Human Resources Business Partner will contribute to and lead the execution of people experience strategies and initiatives in partnership with the broader People organization. The HRBP will also help facilitate HR services for our North America-based employees and ensure we have best-in-class talent and a positive employee experience to drive organizational success. Critical for success is knowledge of California labor laws, visa applications processes, and competitive strategies to influence key business decisions. This role will interpret and enforce company policies and provide coaching to managers on all aspects of leadership and talent retention. As a key culture leader, the HRBP will also build relationships with stakeholders throughout the company and participate in special projects and provide focused, functional support.
Essential Job Functions
Labor Law & Compliance:
  • Serve as the internal expert on California labor laws, compliance, and policy matters.
  • Ensure rigorous compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and procedures.
  • Advise company leaders on legal and compliance issues, ensuring that all HR practices adhere to relevant regulations.
Business Partnership & Leadership Coaching:
  • Proactively advise company leaders and coach managers and employees in assigned client group on strategies, policies, programs, and best practices.
  • Consult with managers and employees on organizational design, goal setting, and strategies for success.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity.
Change Management & Culture Leadership:
  • Serve as a change agent, helping the organization evolve to meet business objectives and turnaround high-risk situations.
  • Promote and demonstrate behaviors consistent with the company’s core values of Trust, Accountability, Respect, and Agility.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders throughout the company to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
HR Services & Project Management:
  • Manage a variety of general HR projects as needed, such as onboarding, performance management, talent assessment, succession planning, engagement surveys, local training & development, policy updates and creation, audits, compensation, and employee communication.
  • Work with business groups to assess, create, and implement innovative solutions for employee engagement initiatives within the client group.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR organization to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
Employee Relations & Talent Retention:
  • Exercise tact and diplomacy in handling sensitive, complex, and confidential personnel issues.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on all aspects of leadership and talent retention.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees, helping them navigate HR processes and ensuring a positive employee experience.
Additional Duties:
  • Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.
Job Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • HR Certification preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of Visa Immigration processes strongly preferred.
Experience:
  • 5 years of HR experience in generalist support, onboarding, recognition programs, culture development, employee engagement, coaching and development, talent management, conflict resolution, change management, data analysis, and/or HR business partner support.
  • Experience working with California-based non-exempt employees required.
  • HR generalist experience supporting client groups and experience in multiple areas of HR.
  • Business partner and functional support expertise.
  • Organizational design, change management experience and support in high growth environments.
Skills:
  • Strong business and HR acumen, including ability to diagnose and analyze problems and drive appropriate solutions.
  • Strong understanding of California employment law.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PPT, Outlook, HRIS systems.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent judgment.
  • Well organized and confidence to work independently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
  • Excels in a team-oriented work environment and strong, flexible team orientation.
  • Exhibits a strong work ethic and accountability to deadlines and business needs.
  • Ability to support a 24x7x365 organization with flexibility around off hours emergencies or responses to employees/managers on swing and night shifts.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Travel required is expected to be up to 15% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Additional Details
  • Salary Range: Santa Clara, CA approximate range $ 120K-130K base bonus | Denver CO approximate range $ 105-125K base Bonus (these ranges are approximate given market data and may vary in other locations and may vary pending experience)
