About This OpportunityReporting directly to the Site Controller, this is a hands-on pivotal role that involves overseeing and actively participating in the full cycle of accounts payable processing, with a primary focus on implementing process improvements to ensure timely payments.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Develop new accounts payable processes or enhance existing processes.
- Lead and manage the accounts payable team, offering guidance, training, and support to ensure high-performance levels.
- Actively participate in the timely and accurate processing of invoices, ensuring proper coding, approval, documentation, and payment.
- Lead and participate in the month-end closing process for accounts payable.
- Oversee credit card transactions for T&E, purchase cards & vendor cards (Concur, AMEX).
- Develop and implement a process to reconcile Accounts Payable to our vendors’ records
- Plan payment cycles to ensure optimal use of cash
- Investigate accounts payable issues as needed.
- Cultivate relationships with vendors and colleagues.
- Possess knowledge of tax and accounting laws and standards.
- Engage in general accounting activities, including research, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related major.
- 3 years of managerial experience with direct reports.
- 5 years of accounts payable or related experience.
- Proficiency in Visual or similar ERP system.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Inspires and empowers a team of direct reports, showcasing exceptional leadership skills that drive motivation and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Demonstrated advanced analytical thinking skills.
- Collaborative with colleagues and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Diligent, detail-oriented, and careful in work approach.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (PivotTable & VLOOKUP) and Word for analysis and business correspondence.
- Prior experience with employee expenses (Concur, AMEX, or similar).
