DEFINITION

Follows established nursing processes, including but not limited to patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Provides clients with a full range of personalized care, such as instruction on chronic disease management and medication, pain management, wound care, IV infusion, and postoperative instruction. Pays specific attention to the safety and confidentiality of all patients. Documents accordingly on the patient’s medical record.

TYPICAL TASK

• Completing the initial assessment visit including monitoring vital signs as applicable and re-assessing each client’s nursing needs on a regular basis
• Providing nursing services, treatments and diagnostic procedures requiring specialized skills and assuming full responsibility for each assigned patient
• Developing and implementing the care/service plan for each client
• Observing and reporting symptoms, reaction to treatments, drugs, and changes in the client’s physical or emotional condition
• Counseling the client and their family in meeting nursing and related needs
• May oversee, guide and supervise the work of LVNs, CNAs and support staff
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

• Possession of a valid and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Successful candidates must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

• Must have knowledge of patient evaluation and triage procedures
• Must have knowledge of clinical operations and procedures
• Must have knowledge of nursing theory and practice
• Must have knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for the administration of medications and patient care aids
• Must be able to communicate effectively in a clear and concise manner
• Must be able to interact with others in a calm and professional manner
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs without injury to self or others
• Must have the ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.
• Must have the ability to critically think and take immediate and reasonable action

Job Types: Contract, Temporary

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

• Nursing: 1 year (Preferred)
