Position purpose/core responsibilities
Under the Maintenance Manager’s guidance, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance of Vaupell’s equipment and buildings to ensure optimum use.
Main Duties
• Install, test, operate and maintain plant systems and equipment to include compressed air, water, hydraulic, and other plastic production equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and maintain accurate record results on selected machines.
• Perform safety inspections as directed.
• Inspect plant equipment and facilities. Disassemble plant equipment and machinery and install new parts as required.
• Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocols
• Strong ability to troubleshoot equipment and systems for electrical and hydraulic issues.
• Order, deliver, and pick up parts.
• Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
• Communication/Collaboration with workers and other industry professionals during daily operations and new projects.
• Perform other general maintenance duties and custodial functions as necessary or assigned. Qualification Guidelines
• Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations) Skills and experience required
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic systems is desired.
• Valid Washington State drivers license preferred.

• Must be able to remain standing and/or walking for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, crouch or kneel as required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion
• Must be able to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers
• Must be able to communicate in English with employees at all levels, to read complex instructions and diagrams, and to hear alarms and changes in sound.
