Vaxxinova US is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our Diagnostics team in Worthington, Minnesota.

About the Laboratory Technician Position: The Lab Tech is responsible for providing technical support in the development of vaccines; including but not limited to antigen discovery, formulation, process development, assay development, and efficacy studies.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Conduct assigned projects, experiments, or departmental activities to meet the project goals and timeline.
• Bacterial growth and characterization.
• Conducts essential assays such as ELISA, TCID50, IFA and western blotting
• Independently lead assigned projects, sets project goals and develops timelines.
• Perform basic molecular biology and microbiology experiments.
• Communicate data/results in the form of written or oral reports.
• Assist in the analysis of data/results and provide suggestions for next steps.
• Collect, maintain, and organize data in the form of a laboratory notebook, bench record, animal record, electronic project database, and/or production record.
• Maintain laboratory equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Capabilities:

• Familiar with the principle of veterinary biologics, research and development of biologics, diagnostic assays, vaccine production, quality control and regulatory agencies
• Ability to follow department SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure)
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Ability to work independently, prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Math skills
• Attention to detail and the ability to multitask
• AS Degree in Microbiology or related field with 1-2 years’ experience working in a laboratory.
