VCA Civano Animal Hospital & Emergency Center is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our well-established, 24/7 emergency and general practice. We are looking for someone specifically to fill an emergency veterinarian position in a hybrid role filling both swing and overnight shifts in a rotating schedule. VCA Civano Animal Hospital provides care for companion animals (dogs/cats), a variety of exotic species (birds, reptiles, small mammals) and large animals (horses, small ruminants and a variety of farm animals) in Tucson, Arizona! We are looking for a veterinarian comfortable with companion animals and are not required to see the other species listed unless comfortable.

As our ideal candidate, you have: The ideal candidate would exemplify the core qualities of our culture and endeavor to contribute in positive ways. This candidate is open to the ever-changing nature of veterinary medicine and strives to provide the highest standard of care.

• A valid DVM degree or equivalent, enabling practice in the United States
• Completed a small animal internship or have 2 years of in hospital emergency experience
• Comfortable with a multitude of surgeries to include laceration repair, cystotomy, splenectomy, gastrointestinal foreign body, pyometra and basic stabilization for fractures etc
• Leadership skills combined with a positive, team-player attitude to enable our team to flourish 
• Excellent diagnostic and critical care skills 
• Exemplary client service skills, allowing you to build trust and loyalty with clients 
• Organizational skills, which allow you to work efficiently under pressure and multi-task
• The drive and ability to train and mentor our team
• Ability to work a variety of shifts and rotate through weekends and statutory holidays. There is a set schedule that rotates with another associate between swing shifts and night shifts. Schedule can be negotiable pending experience level.
