Summary The VDURA Information Technology department is looking for a Systems Administrator to provide desktop and infrastructure support in our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office. VDURA has a mixed environment of Windows, Mac and Linux systems and makes significant use of SaaS applications to support the company. The position is hybrid remote and will require on-site work in the Pittsburgh office. The successful candidate will have a broad background in infrastructure support and management and will deliver a high level of customer support.
Responsibilities Work will primarily be organized via our ticketing system, with focus on end-user support. Work at VDURA IT will require familiarity with the following tasks and skills:
- Administration of Windows Active Directory including accounts and multi-platform authentication using AD based LDAP
- Manage Cisco/Meraki WiFi infrastructure across multiple sites including PEAP/Certificate/Radius authentication
- Help provide administration and support of company SaaS applications, including
- Okta
- Concur
- Coupa
- Atlassian Jira (cloud)
- Meraki MDM
- Symantec Endpoint Security
- BitDefender Gravity
- Management and administration for Microsoft365 services including E-Mail, Teams including Teams Rooms and collaboration via SharePoint and Teams
- Install, maintain, and configure Windows and Mac laptops and infrastructure servers and systems
- Deploy and manage VM Hosts and iscsi storage including Vmware, Proxmox and TrueNAS
- Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware, software, and network problems. Troubleshoot performance of systems affecting end users
- Support remote work for employees using cloud services and accessing on-premise resources via VPN
- Mobile device support including iPhone and Android devices in a BYOD system
- Administration and management of data backup policies and procedures
- Procurement of IT-related resources and management of IT vendor relationships including SaaS subscriptions
- Creating, tracking, and closing trouble support tickets for all IT related issues in a timely manner
- Tracking of IT assets in a resource database for management and monitoring of IT equipment lifecycle
- Completion of special project assignments as needed
Experience/Qualifications - At least 5 years of experience providing outstanding customer service in an IT technical support role involving mixed systems and web applications
- At least 3 years of experience with Mac and PC hardware; Windows through 11, macOS through 14.4, Microsoft Office Suite, LAN & TCP/IP networking fundamentals
- At least 3 years of experience supporting Microsoft Exchange or Office365 in a multi-site/multi-server/multiple platform environment
- Ability to perform Linux administration tasks, monitoring and updates from the command line
- Strong knowledge and experience working in an Active Directory environment
- Sound judgment and decision-making qualities when addressing unscheduled service requests or emergencies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
- Ability to lift and move PC equipment
- Undergraduate degree in a computer science related field preferred or equivalent relevant work experience
