It’s time to take on that crucial role you have been waiting for that combines your passion for safety with your expertise in program and relationship management.

With your proven track record in safety management, you can take your career to the next level by joining our team at Vector Construction as our Senior Safety Manager!

  • Training: You will educate our workforce on the importance of maintaining a safe environment and support new hire, annual, and project-specific training.
  • Site Visits: A significant part of your role will involve visiting job sites nationwide and interacting with field staff, clients, and our divisional leadership teams. This is to ensure the highest level of safety in our operations and navigate the complexities of safe construction operations.
  • Culture: Your role goes beyond mere compliance. It's about inspiring others, promoting our company's culture that prioritizes our people and emphasizes safety as our top priority- teamwork being the key.
  • Troubleshooting: You will proactively identify project-related issues through risk assessments, audits, and participating in project kickoffs, among other proactive measures.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and team members. You will motivate and empower our teams to prioritize safety. Regular field check-ins serve as an important support aspect of this role, making you the trusted face and expert of our safety department.
  • Innovation: Take the lead in enhancing our programs by completing post-project reviews for all projects, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Your valuable insights will contribute to refining project processes and ensuring consistency in lessons learned.
  • Streamline Communication & Processes: Identify opportunities to improve communication and safety processes across the organization.

Are you the ideal candidate for the position?

  • You take initiative. Rather than waiting for tasks to be assigned to you, you proactively seek out opportunities to contribute and determine the best ways to add value in the mission.
  • You constantly seek out ways to improve efficiency and drive positive change, while also inspiring and motivating others as a team player.
  • You thrive in an environment where each project presents unique challenges and offers a variety of work. Solving problems creatively and working on exciting projects bring you personal satisfaction and enjoyment.
  • Your strength lies in maintaining composure and staying calm. You know when to pick your battles and seek clarification when necessary.
  • You have exceptional communication skills that allow you to effectively interact with individuals at every level within the organization, from field teams to corporate management.
  • You are a safety manager eager to establish new industry standards and make a meaningful impact on people's lives.

To be successful in this role, the right candidate will possess the following:

  • 7 years of proven experience in safety management, demonstrating a successful track record in managing risks.
  • Ability to build and foster strong team relationships, with a focus on effective communication and client-centered service. 5 years of leadership experience managing field teams and other safety professionals is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including a strong background in using the Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to work autonomously while providing crucial support to ensure smooth construction operations.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, contributing to innovative problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to contribute to the development and maintenance of strategic alliances with industry organizations.
  • Skilled in resource management, ensuring prudent use of corporate resources to optimize efficiency and achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Preferred but not required: safety management within the construction industry and an understanding of construction processes is advantageous.
  • This exciting role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with in-person support at our 3 US divisions and their project sites. Expected travel requirements will be 60-70%.

We firmly believe that both collaboration and integrity are essential to our success. This is evident in the way we prioritize our employees' well-being, address and resolve issues, and the extraordinary measures we will take to accomplish this.
