Job Objective: Plan and purchase raw materials. Support sourcing and purchase of MRO items, capital equipment and services in support of on-going business requirements. Maintain adequate inventory to ensure production continuity and service while minimizing overall inventory value.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Plans and purchases a variety of raw materials and services in support of day to day manufacturing operations utilizing MRP, Min Max and other planning concepts.
  • Responsible for monitoring raw material inventory and consumption activity, project future requirements and manage re-supply programs.
  • Manage inventory, ensuring production continuity while minimizing investment. Monitor product shelf life and strategize for best utilization, working closely with operations and planning teams.
  • Actively manage down excess inventories and actioning any obsolete materials.
  • Manage outside processing, including shipping of goods, job creation and maintenance, supplier communications and purchase orders.
  • Work with category managers to establish suppliers, communicating site service requirements and supporting system set up.
  • Work with R&D, engineering, and commodity managers to introduce new parts and manage down any existing inventories.
  • Resolve supplier invoice discrepancies by interfacing with Receiving, Accounts Payable and Suppliers.
  • Resolve supplier quality and or performance issues in conjunction with Supplier Quality and Category Manager.
  • Drive supplier quality reviews in alignment with supplier quality defined process.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Job Qualifications:

  • Business degree or 2 years related manufacturing experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets required.
  • Clear understanding of Bill of Materials and Materials Requirement Planning
  • Prior experience planning and purchasing inventory materials utilizing Oracle and other planning tools desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Extensive working knowledge of Oracle ERP desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to supply challenges.
  • Textile and/or plastic molding experience a plus.
  • Ability to self- pace learning including book, web-base and classroom participation.
  • C.P.M. desirable
