Velocity Dance Center is hiring for 2024 and beyond. Do you love working with kids? Do you want to make a difference? Velocity Dance Center is seeking a positive and experienced person for the role of Dance Teacher at our Oklahoma City Location. 

Velocity Dance Center has been serving families in the Oklahoma City area for 17 seasons. Our mission is to "Grow Great Kids Through Dance." Our classes are taught by skilled teachers, in positive classrooms, and we pride ourselves on age-appropriate movement and music. Our students go beyond technique to important life skills and incorporate VDC values – family first, leaders training leaders, education, professionalism, and community - in all that we do. 

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to teach a variety of dance styles, work with a supportive and collaborative team, and make a positive impact on the lives of our students. We are looking for someone who has experience teaching dance to children of all ages , is creative and flexible in their teaching styles, and has an enthusiastic, disciplined, and warm approach to students. The ideal candidate can teach ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop to beginners . It is a bonus if the candidate can teach one to two styles to advanced dancers as well. 

The ideal candidate will be able to teach from a curriculum and also create and manage their own progressive class plan s. You must have excellent organizational and self-management skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Classes take place Monday - Thursday from 4:00 - 9:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm . Class times and styles vary from night to night. The ideal candidate is available to work multiple days a week and every Saturday. 

In addition to teaching teachers do weekly student touchpoints and cleaning duties each scheduled day. Teachers are also required to attend q uarterly staff meetings , VDC Community Events , and all recital and performance rehearsals and events as scheduled. These events are paid for additional admin hours.

Included as part of the regular teaching rate, teachers will prepare engaging classes , and prepare dancers for 2 successful recitals, which includes finding music and choreographing the recital routine.

This position is a part-time position with the opportunity to grow into long-term employment with our company. We offer paid time off for part-time employees. This position will begin on August 1 of 2024.
