We are a Correspondent-Clearing broker/dealer seeking a motivated and dynamic Head of Operations. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the clearing operations team and ensuring operational excellence. You will advise the CEO on key operational insights as well as provide coaching to employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee operational processes and systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements as well as established clearing “best practices”.
• Manage the firm operations staff
• Oversee and assist with various clearing functions including trade reconciliation, margin, reg SHO compliance, securities lending, securities reorg, DTC securities movements, options reconciliation
• Oversee IPO trade allocations and securities movements
• Work with firm’s finance group to manage daily firm settlement obligations
• Manage the movement of firm collateral to secure capital for firm operating needs
• Interact with FINRA, DTCC and OCC staff regarding firm matters
• Oversee the filing of various periodic regulatory reports
• Develop relationships with clients, executing venues, system providers, and other
• Assist with the development and implementation of additional client-facing and back-office system functions as necessary
• Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution
• Develop culture of urgency and awareness through strong KPIs that facilitate focus and accurately monitor performance
• Provide cross-training opportunities to employees to ensure proper coverage and forward-thinking
• Collaborates with executive leadership, other divisions, and departments to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operational projects and systems
• Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the CEO and other executive leadership

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in a brokerage clearing operations leadership role
• Experience with various DTC & NSCC functions
• Experience interacting with regulatory and membership organizations such as FINRA, DTCC & OCC
• Ability to identify and process risk related transactions and ensure escalation of red flags if appropriate
• Ability to efficiently handle a multitude of tasks while maintaining a low error rate
• Ability to quickly assess the operational efficiency and prioritize improvement processes
• Possesses the ability to creatively identify options to problem resolution and implementation methods
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to multitask efficiently and effectively
• Basic knowledge of computer programming a plus
• Educational background in science, technology, engineering and/or math
• SQL or experience with relational databases
• A clean U4 and background is required for this position.

Education Requirements

• Extensive knowledge in clearing, to provide efficient support and education for departments work flow and operations.
• 5 years Industry experience
• Bachelor's degree from four-year institution preferred

License or Certification Requirements

FINRA Series 7 & 24 securities licenses
