Vehicle Technician
Location: San Francisco, CA
Duration: 6 months
Description:
We are looking for a vehicle technician to support the readiness of our fleet vehicles.
In this role, you will primarily be focused on maintenance, repairs, fleet reworks and contribute towards the operations of our workshop.
This includes scheduled/preventative maintenance and services, diagnostics, repair coordination, and general upkeep of vehicles
In this role, you will:
Performing all repairs according to work instructions and documenting results.
Conducting multi-point inspections and system checks, making appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of fleet vehicles.
Performing high-quality repairs and inspections efficiently and accurately.
Document requested repairs and findings in a specialized service platform.
Inspecting and testing all work performed as a Quality Control (QC) measure as soon as jobs are completed.
Build an excellent service experience for internal teams and business partners
Maintaining an inventory of Technician’s tools
Assist with parts inventory, location, and organization
Operating all equipment in the Service Center in a safe and productive manner, following Client Safety Standards for the use of personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection) while working on the production floor.
Understanding and following federal, state, and local regulations that affect Service Center operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA guidelines, etc.
Configure, set up, maintain, diagnose, and sign off on vehicles for safe on-road usage.
Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles
Minimum of 5 years of technician experience
Clean/excellent driving record
Reliable, self-starter, roll-up-the-sleeves work ethos
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deliverables
Team player
Excellent written and verbal skills
Must be honest, responsible, and an outstanding communicator
Bonus Qualifications:
Diagnostic troubleshooting experience with OEM systems: high-level experience working with HV systems and hybrid drivetrains, CAN/LIN, HVAC, cooling, chassis, and suspension.
Ability to operate comfortably within and troubleshoot Linux based systems.
Diagnostic experience with embedded modules, self-driving systems and sensor stacks
Knowledgeable regarding optimization of fleet maintenance and OEM maintenance items.
Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repair
ASE certification and/or manufacturer certification
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $37.00 - $39.00 per hour
