Ventas Inc is Hiring an Intern, Software Engineering (Summer 2025) Near Chicago, IL
This is a 10-week internship position with the Ventas during the summer of 2025.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain software applications.
- Assist in implementing new features and functionalities according to project requirements.
- Design and develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements.
- Execute manual and automated tests to identify software defects and ensure product quality.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and review sessions with the development team.
- Debug and troubleshoot software issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Learn and apply best practices in software engineering, including version control, testing, and deployment.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide innovative ideas to solve technical challenges.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies and trends in software development.
- Currently enrolled in a four-year accredited college or university, pursuing a relevant course of study (Computer Science or Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, etc.), and expected to graduate in 2026
- Programming skills in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C , etc.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies and practices.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
- Understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and techniques.
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge and understanding of testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar is a plus
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude towards tackling challenges.
