Ventura County Credit Union is Hiring a Branch Loan Coordinator Near Ventura, CA

JOB PURPOSE

The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate the progression of approved consumer loans to Ready to Fund status, thereby maximizing branch(es) funding ratios and giving MSRs more time to interact with members and perform activities intended to generate more loan applications. May work multiple branch queues, providing reports to branch management on the status of each queue.

A key element of this service is to identify member needs and recommend credit union solutions that will improve members financial well-being. Delivers exceptionally high-quality service to VCCUs members and teammates and abide by all service standards and tenets of VCCUs Core Values. Serves member in alignment with VCCUs Core Service Standards. Maintains a professional comportment and complies with all Credit Union policies and procedures, including Standards of Conduct and Confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND FUNCTIONS

TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL FUNCTION SATISFACTORILY. REASONABLE ACCOMODATIONS MAY BE MADE TO ENABLE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

  • Contacts members who apply online for consumer loans to request items needed to make loan decisions; communicates loan decisions and helps facilitate approved loans through the process to funding.
  • Provides support to underwriters by getting documents or information when loan status is Need More Information and assists in resolving fraud warnings.
  • Contacts members to communicate counter offers or gain additional information needed for loan decisions.
  • Calculates proof of income and ensures it matches the loan application.
  • Follows up with all applications in queue to ensure efficient processing.
  • Answers members questions regarding their loans (length, payment, rate, etc.) while making adjustments to ensure members have their desired loan terms.
  • Prepares members for DocuSign process or schedules appointments for them to meet with MSRs to finalize loans.
  • Reviews applications for potential opportunities that could benefit member (GAP, MMP, additional loans or other products).
  • Maintains focus on branch(es) loan queue(s) to ensure newly approved loans are immediately followed up on. Answers members questions and requests any items needed to prepare loan applications for funding, including required documentation to satisfy loan stipulations.
  • Performs duties related to opening new accounts and establishing new memberships; opens all types of share accounts, including Checking, Certificates, and Money Market Savings.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of credit union products and services and comprehensive understanding of related documentation and procedures for all New Accounts functions.
  • As needed, performs all teller transactions as needed; balances currency, coin, and checks at end of shift to totals generated by system.
  • Complies with all applicable branch policies and procedures; adheres to all teller and check cashing procedures and deposit limits as outlined in the Authority Limits for this position.
  • Maintains understanding and compliance with all regulations specific to branch operations (Bank Secrecy Act, Reg cc, Reg E, Patriot Act, etc.).
  • Proactively assesses members needs, seeks opportunities to improve their financial well-being and deploys established processes to compel members to consider additional credit union products and services that will do so.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This job has no supervisory responsibilities; however, it may have limited override capabilities as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

ALL EMPLOYEES MUST QUALIFY FOR AND MAINTAIN A FIDELITY BOND

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • 18 months previous Teller experience required; 2 years previous Teller experience preferred.
  • Good interpersonal skills to ensure member concerns are handled in a professional manner
  • Ability to present a professional image with management, staff and members
  • Proven ability to consistently report to work, on time, as scheduled

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be able to operate all basic office equipment and be PC literate with Windows applications. Must achieve and maintain a general knowledge of the Credit Union teller system. Must attain a thorough knowledge of Credit Union products and services.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to member, clients, and other employees of the Credit Union.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. The person in the position must communicate constantly with members in order to convey information about their transaction and you must be able to exchange accurate information with them. You are occasionally required to traverse across the office/lobby to access vaults or files. You will constantly operate computer equipment using a keyboard, 10 touch keypads and other like office equipment to accurately calculate figures, input data and to count money. You will sometimes have to ascend/descend or position yourself to crouch or kneel for items on the floor. The employee must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to look up and out for security acceptance of cash, coin, checks, and securities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electric shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however with Branches that have coin machines, the noise level may increase.
