Tool and Die Maker
Location : Hamilton
Rotatingshift : Morning afternoon Night
What you will do :
- Keep yourself of your team members healthy byworking safely by following all plant and safetyprocedures
- Work collaboratively as part of ateam made up of other trades and production operators
- Demonstrate and maintain a consistent output that meetsproduction needs
- Set up and operate alltoolroom machines including lathes milling machines drill pressesgrinders etc.
- Build modify repair andtroubleshoot dies jigs and fixtures for production while working tovery close tolerances from blueprints sketches andsamples
- Assist operators in setting up andadjusting presses to ensure the final product meets customerspecifications
- Maintain and manufacture toolsdies and fixtures to ensure quality components at peakefficiency
- Read and interpret blueprints anduse precision measuring instruments (imperial andmetric)
- Perform bench work and skilled fittingto very close tolerances
- Maintaindocumentation and preventative maintenance requirements of presstools
- Recommend maintenance and equipmentrepair necessary to achieve the highest possible efficiency safetyand quality
What youbring
- Tool and Die MakerAEC / DEP or Certificate of Qualification (430A)
- Experience working safely in a heavy industrialenvironment
- Working knowledge of OHSA andrelevant legislation (e.g. WHMIS Lockout Confined Space Working atHeights etc.) and willingness to successfully complete employerpaidtraining
- Able to prioritize urgency based onproduction requirements
- Conduct and completescheduled preventative maintenance work orders tasks andchecklists
- Accurately document the steps takenand the duration required to diagnose and resolve issues
- Ability to work independently and as a contributingcollaborating team member
- Basic computerliteracy
- Safely perform the physical demandsof this position including standing bending crouching overhead workheavy lifting and carrying.
- Experience withheavy stamping EDM Sinker is considered an asset
