Job Summary
The Production Manager energizes & motivates an experienced team of resin production and membrane employees to work safely, improve cycle time, focus on quality, & meet production goals. Oversees the regeneration of ion exchange resins & other water treatment media, focusing on ways to improve processes & increase productivity. Oversees the Membranes Team to optimize the turning of Reverse Osmosis (RO) and other membrane equipment. Coordinates water treatment equipment preparation, ensures maintenance of units to ship to customers, and partners with facility maintenance to maintain operations. Teams with the Plant Manager to foster a compliance-based culture with outside regulatory agencies, & within the company itself. Acts as a driving force for the EHS program while supporting the Plant Manager in the administrative compliance duties for company and government operations.
● Manages the logistics of preparing mobile water treatment equipment for dispatch to customer sites, ensuring quality & customer satisfaction.
● Optimizes operations by creating, implementing & managing continuous improvement projects in the areas of: chemical & utility usage, wastewater treatment, regeneration efficiency, water treatment equipment turnover, procurement, maintenance, & inventory management.
● Ensures the site maintains sufficient supply of critical chemicals and production parts.
● Delivers regular reporting of production activities including, but not limited to standard SAP,
Tableau and locally generated reports.
● Utilizes KPIs to adjust production activities accordingly.
● Motivates employees through inclusiveness, tangible rewards & recognition, & strategic
developmental plans.
● Champions integrity & ethical work practices.
● Leads by example & develops close working relationships with the plant staff, vendors,
customers & leaders.
● Participates in the selection, interviewing & hiring of new regeneration, manufacturing,
maintenance & delivery specialist employees.
● Manages the orientation & training of new employees.
● Directly backs up the Plant Manager
Qualifications/Requirements:
● Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in an operations or management position).
● At least two additional years of operations or management experience
● Eligibility Requirements;
o Ability to read and interpret instruction and safety manuals
o Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
o Mathematical skills, including math operations in all units of measure, using whole
numbers, fractions, decimals, ratio and percentages
o Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments to included but not limited to
industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities
Desired Characteristics:
● BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred
● Demonstrated knowledge of water treatment processes including deionization, softening,
reverse osmosis and deoxygenation preferred
● Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance
● Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing process and/or Six Sigma
● Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety Regulations
● Strong oral and written communication skills
● Strong interpersonal skills and awareness
● Demonstrated leadership skills
● Demonstrated teamwork skills
