A new position has arisen with the accounting team at Edinburgh Trams, for a Finance Assistant - Accounts. Working with the Asst Finance Manager you would have responsibility for assisting with the day-to-day accounting tasks and procedures of the company, for example the Sales and Purchase ledger. The successful applicant should have a high level of numerical accuracy, strong IT skills specifically excel and have experience with accounting packages. Due to the nature of work, this role is an “Office Based” role, 5 days per week as it requires interaction with other members of staff in relation to revenue checking etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with Asst Finance Manager on day-to-day accounting functions
- Contribute towards the processing of the period accounts
- Cash book maintenance
- Revenue and commercial data reporting
- Sales and Purchase ledger processing
- Cash room duties
- Daily audit checks associated with revenue protection
- Prepare and issue purchase orders for external suppliers
- Supporting Events and providing general support to other teams within the business where appropriate and when required
- Adhoc duties as per business requirements
- Background in accounting with a recognised qualification or several years’ experience in this area
- Experience in accounting packages
- Excellent excel, written and verbal communication skills.
