Job Title : DAS Technician

Duration : Full-time

Pay Rate : $24-28/hr. (Based on Experience)

Summary :

The role of the DAS Installer is to is to perform the best customer-service experience for DAS system installations and DAS head end upgrade projects. The DAS Installer’s job is a hands-on, on-site, technical, and high-travel and field-installation position.

Responsibilities :

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 100% of the time

• Complete tasks on scheduled date and within a specified timeframe while offering world-class customer service

• Document job-related expenses and timekeeping records to submit in a timely manner

• Provide management with feedback and ideas for continuous improvement

• Read and interpret DAS design drawings, blueprints, and installation guides

• Install DAS equipment & components, including, but not limited to the installation of outdoor donor antennas, indoor antennas, coaxial cable, CATV cable, fiber optic cable, CAT 5 cable, CAT 6 cable, DC power cable and other appropriate components to NEC standards

• Terminate coaxial cable: JMA, Andrews, Trilogy, etc.

• Fusion Splicing and Fiber OTDR Testing

• Configure and integrate DAS head end equipment and dry contact alarm monitoring equipment.

• Completing sweep, PIM, and fiber testing

• Complete site surveys to troubleshoot and design corrective RF and RF/fiber optic installations for existing systems with inadequate coverage

Qualifications :

• High school degree or equivalent

• Solid understanding of Public Safety/DAS, including modulation techniques, amplifier/antenna/cable theory, link budgets, propagation tools, etc.

• Knowledge of the terminology used in the in-building Public Safety/DAS industry

• Working knowledge of RF testing equipment (i.e. spectrum analyzer, sweep and PIM test equipment)

• Demonstrated ability to use basic hand and power tools needed for installation projects

• Professional manner, appearance, and discretion in engaging customer

• Use standard office equipment such as computers and phones

• Satisfactory background check including state-specific requirements (e.g., fingerprinting)

• Compliance with client-specific requirements (e.g., immunizations, PPE)

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

• Reliable transportation for coverage area

• Clean background check and clear drug screen

• Self-guided and able to work independently

• Strong organizational skills
