Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Position Description: The primary purpose of this position is provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines, regulations to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be maintained at all times.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Observe patients before, during and after therapy, noting their status and reporting to a physical therapist
• Assist in developing, implementing and coordinating patient care plans for individual patients in coordination and conjunction with the patients assessment
• Brief patient of procedures involved in physical therapy and prepare necessary equipment-reassure patient before and during therapy treatment
• Focus on providing the highest quality treatment for patients that allows for excellent patient outcomes
• Recommend modifications of changes in the patient’s therapy program based on evaluation of progress
• Ensure that all therapy notes are informative, descriptive and follow Company’s policy and procedures

Qualifications

Education/Certifications:

• Vaild PTA license (required)
• Vaild CPR (required)
• Level one Fingerprint clearance card (required)

Experience and Specific Requirements

• At least 1 years’ experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and accept constructive criticism
• Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel
• Must possess good judgement and have the ability to maintain highly confidential information
• Must be knowledgeable of HIPAA compliance and requirements
• Must have the ability and to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals and objectives of the department as it relates to the Company
• Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
