What you'll be doing...

As the Director of Paid Social Strategy & Innovation within Verizon's in-house digital media team, you will be responsible for the overall paid social media strategy to achieve brand and business objectives for Verizon Consumer Group. With your expert knowledge of the social landscape and the evolution of consumer behavior, you will keep executive leadership educated on emerging technologies. You will drive the product roadmap with our key partners. You will develop innovative plans to drive differentiation in a highly competitive landscape. The role will be responsible for the development of forward-thinking, holistic paid social media strategies across the Verizon Consumer Group.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting product launches, key products, and services across paid social channels.
  • Developing an innovative, macro vision for our playbook for paid social activation.
  • Evolving Verizon's social approach by creating disruptive, 360-degree paid activations and integrating with branded content.
  • Connecting creative and creators into our paid approach while keeping best practices and brand standards top of mind.
  • Identifying and ensuring alignment on key performance indicators for campaigns
  • Evaluating performance to identify opportunities for better engagement and conversion
  • Leading and transforming social partnerships to pioneer and drive product roadmaps
  • Educating internal teams on the evolution of paid social technology, what's leading in the marketplace, where we should be going and what tech can be utilized
  • Aligning and integrating with inter and cross-channel teams, managing the ongoing communication with these stakeholders for applicable projects.
  • Stakeholders include, but are not limited to other Marketing Activation, Integrated Marketing, GTM, Organic Social, Creative, Production, Customer Experience/Design, Digital Ops, Product and Device teams, Analytics, and their agencies/ vendors
  • Integrating paid media with owned and earned plans

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience overseeing hands-on-keys teams in primary platforms & formats (Meta/Facebook/Instagram, X/Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit).
  • Brand marketer/agency/consultative services experience in developing paid social media strategy & investment plans.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders in highly matrixed organizations.
  • Experience overseeing and directing vendors, partners, agencies, etc.
  • Experience with people management.
  • Proven analytical skills to translate into actionable insights and performance plans.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience with data-driven media technology (Liveramp, Adobe AAM, Epsilon, Acxiom).
  • Experience with management of budgets of at least fifty million dollars.
  • Knowledge of advertising channels across TV, audio, OOH, Display (desktop, mobile), Digital Video, Social Media, various buying methodologies (CPM, CPC, CPA), etc.
  • Experience with ad verification and brand safety tools (IAS, DoubleVerify, Moat).
  • Experience making recommendations and influencing executives on strategy and tech adoption, based on thorough awareness of the current and emerging tech landscape.
  • Experience with dynamic creative, AI and generative AI technologies & tools (Innovid).
  • Experience with management of agency relationships and resources, and ability to influence across divisions, departments and teams.
  • An understanding of ad trafficking & tagging operations process (CM, Innovid).

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $123,000.00 and $228,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
