What you’ll be doing...

As part of Verizon’s Experience Design team, you’ll have the chance to impact one of the largest consumer presences in America, supporting millions of daily customer interactions across a growing consumer product portfolio. With global offices and hybrid work environments, the team is assembling the brightest designers, design strategists, and product managers to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, shaping the future of the customer experience.

The Content Strategy team (Product) works to create new Verizon products and improve existing ones that impact the customer experience. As a Senior Content Strategist (Product), you’ll play a key role in shaping content strategy and design for products made by Verizon in the areas of mobile and home connectivity, hardware instructions, plans, as well as digital services and wearables. You’ll work independently to solve problems of varying complexity, producing sound, effective content strategy solutions while collaborating with the team to develop new ideas. Working with partners in design, product, technology, and business, you’ll collaborate on a wide range of internal stakeholders as well as vendors in the development and commercial launch of mass-produced products.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  • Understanding and applying content guidelines in the Verizon Design System to deliver a consistent family of products.

  • Identifying project needs and engaging stakeholders in conversation to fully understand needs.

  • Thoroughly exploring, refining, and documenting content solutions.

  • Giving and receiving constructive feedback.

  • Communicating the current project plan, goals, and expected outcomes.

  • Working within Verizon's front-end and back-end technology constraints and capabilities. 

  • Articulating user, business, and/or technical reasoning for detailed content decisions in critiques or presentations.

  • Actively researching competitive products, industry trends, and topics, and recommending activities, solutions, and methods to guide team members and stakeholders.

  • Contributing to recommendations for shaping appropriate user insight-gathering activities (informal or formal user testing).

  • Staying updated on Verizon's business, strategy, and organizational structure. 

  • Mentoring peers and new hires by sharing experiences and processes to enable growth.

  • Playing a role in evolving the content guidelines in the Verizon design system by proposing updates and participating in feedback opportunities.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Hands-on experience creating UX content, preferably for consumer electronics and/or technical products. 

  • Familiarity with Google Suite and Figma.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Certification in UX Content Strategy.

  • Portfolio of professional work.

  • Contributed to multiple content programs or shipped products with a large user base.

  • Contributed to overall product success.

  • Experience with Fortune 500 organizational environments.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $98,000.00 and $182,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
