DUTIES: Responsible for data science projects applying cutting edge ML (machine learning) techniques and AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology; develop coding for data science projects/solutions; develop predictive models to support various business strategies and opportunities; research, analyze, manipulate, or process large sets of data using Apache Spark and Hadoop; test and validate models for solutions to business problems; participate in large portfolios of data science projects and deliver innovative technical solutions to solve problems and improve business outcomes; play an active role in the design and development of machine learning/statistical models and ensure best performance; work with engineers and other developers to deploy models in production both in real time and in batch process and systematically track model performance; help establish best practices and governance routines; create analytical models to predict customer behavior and business events; act as a subject matter expert on machine learning and predictive modeling and a mentor to junior data scientists; incubate data science and machine learning tools for use in the organization.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a data scientist, decision scientist, software engineer, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 5 years in developing and testing predictive models; coding in Python, PySpark, SQL, and Linux Shell scrips; and analyzing, manipulating, or processing large sets of data using Apache Spark and Hadoop. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience, employer will accept a Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in the fields stated above and 3 years of experience in the above. Experience therein to include 3 years in designing and developing machine learning or statistical models; and 2 years in deploying models in production both in real time and in batch process and systematically tracking model performance. Hybrid role, ability to work from home.
