Powersports Technician Apprentice

Job Description:

The Powersports Technician Apprentice will act as a liaison between the technicians, service advisors, and parts department to ensure a smooth and efficient operation within the service department. Your main role will be to expedite service jobs, manage workflow, and enhance efficiency by working closely with various department team members. The Powersports Technician Apprentice assists in coordinating service appointments, ordering parts, and maintaining communication throughout the repair process.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with shop flow between service advisors and technicians by confirming all repair orders have complete unit information and confirming unit is located in drop off area 30 minutes prior to the appointment time
• Assist with shop flow between parts to service advisor and technicians by confirming parts have been pulled for repair order 30 minutes prior to appointment time and by helping pull parts for the technician and put them with the machine prior to the appointment
• Hold advisors responsible for sending unit and parts stage emails no later than 2 pm for the following day. Assist them with this if needed
• Verify all work in technicians' bins has the unit staged or location written clearly on the repair order at least 30 minutes prior to the appointment
• Work with various team members to verify parts for upcoming appointments have been staged
• Assist in keeping general unit storage areas organized and notify the service manager if assistance is needed
• Assist technicians in cleaning their bays both in the main shop and the setup section
• Help move units from the drop-off location to the correct lot location throughout the business day
• Fill in / assist with shipping and receiving responsibilities as needed
• Actively engage in team huddles to build and grow the team
• Communicate with service advisors if a task is not going to be completed within the given timeframe and give an estimated timeframe for completion

Requirements:

• Strong Communication Skills
• Ability to self-start and hold yourself accountable
• Efficient time management
• This is a new position so a willingness to grow the role as needed and work with supervisors in order to create a position that helps grow the department is a must.
• The schedule is Monday through Friday (with Saturdays as needed) from 8 am to 5 pm. There is potential for overtime.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
