Verona Collective is Hiring a Cannabis Operations Extraction Technician Near Verona, NY

We are currently seeking Extraction Lab Technicians to join our team at the Oneida Indian Nation's 50,000-square-foot cannabis grow facility in Verona, NY supporting the Lab Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a cannabis cultivation lab. You will work closely with the Lab Manager and assist in coordinating all aspects of the extraction process, ensuring that the team follows standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements, and maintains high-quality standards.

WEEKEND AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED - The ideal candidate for this role must be available to work on weekends.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carry out all extraction, extract processing, product formulation, filling, and manufacturing procedures in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining the strict laws and guidelines set by the Oneida Cannabis Commission to ensure all products are manufactured within the confines of the law.
  • Assist Extraction lead in the creation of products.
  • Learn various recipes and methods of preparation of medicated products.
  • Meet set production deadlines by working efficiently with a sense of urgency.
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy involving all product tracking, product security, and product movement procedures.
  • Check products and pull random samples to monitor quality and consistency.
  • Maintain inventory of all medicated, non-medicated, and raw materials.
  • Maintain correct sanitation for work areas, sanitation logs, checking for any possible health code violations, and mitigating the risk of cross-contamination.
  • Assist with the labeling and packaging of final products when necessary.
  • Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on associated equipment as required to maintain efficient operations.
  • Follow appropriate control measures to prevent the mixing of dissimilar production components while following Current Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Perform in-process and post-process quality assurance sampling, testing, and visual inspections to ensure all product meets or exceeds Verona Collective's specifications and patients' expectations; such quality assurance work shall include, but not be limited to:
    • Record and monitor process conditions to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
    • Proper weighing, data recording, and batch tracking throughout Verona Collective's process
    • Execute tests on required analytical equipment.
  • Continually strive to improve Verona Collective's processes for improved patient safety, quality, and efficient manufacturing.
  • Support new product and process development work with our Process/Product Development team.
  • Monitor and manage lab equipment supplies and inventory.
  • Ability to execute manufacturing batch records and SOPs.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in Hydrocarbon, Ethanol, or CO2 Extraction is highly preferred
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work with a diverse set of personalities and learning styles
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Basic computer literacy with the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Ability to stand on feet for up to 10 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
