Responsibilities:
Harbour BioMed, is seeking a strategic role of Senior Director - Vice President, Business Development to support efforts to out-license antibodies and technologies developed by Harbour BioMed. This candidate will provide the vision and leadership to incubate new subsidiaries that emerged from Harbour’s current pipeline, raise funds for new subsidiaries as well as strategize globalization plans within the framework set by executive management. The successful candidate will establish, facilitate, and maintain networks within the industry and present Harbour BioMed technologies to prospective clients and partners. The successful candidate will also evaluate, negotiate, and execute business arrangements consistent with the strategic objectives of the company. The ideal candidate will be in or near Boston. However, the position is remote based so provided travel is not an issue the position can be located on the west coast or east coast.
This role will be a strategic role responsible for:
• Develop and execute the company's business strategy to incubate new subsidiaries based on Harbour's current pipeline, including identifying new opportunities, evaluating potential partnerships and collaborations, and driving pipeline development
• Fundraising: Help new subsidiaries think with major capitalists to tell stories for pipelines and products
• Establish and nurture partnerships; Lead transactions to create asset value; Identify potential partners
• Build and maintain relationships with key partners, customers, and stakeholders, including investors, regulatory agencies, and industry organizations.
• Build US business ecosystem: Increase the company’s global presence by representing the company at industry events, conferences, and other relevant forums
Job Requirements:
• Master’s degree or above (Ph.D. preferred)
• More than 5 years of experience in VC or finance
• 8-12 years of experience in licensing-out, and/or business development, and partnering within the US biotech, life science, and/or global pharma industries
• A solid out-licensing and collaboration deal track record is a plus. Experience with financial modeling and product portfolio strategy is a plus
• Have the ability to drive business decision-making, and effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Energetic, result-oriented, self-driven, with a strong managerial style, a collaborative mentality, and the ability to conduct strategic and analytical thinking
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; be able to introduce science and business topics effectively to people from different backgrounds
