Job Summary

The Sr. Director, Direct Expansion Systemswill lead the offering and product development of Vertiv’s direct expansion product portfolio. The leader in this role will be a key part of the Thermal line of business senior leadership team to develop and execute the overall Thermal business strategy and drive the direct expansion product strategy and execution globally. This role will have high visibility globally and be a key interface with the regional teams to drive the product strategy, roadmap for the direct expansion medium and large product portfolio globally. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the direct expansion systems strategy and roadmap.
  • Develop and manage OPEX and CAPEX budget for department.
  • Work with product and regional teams to develop 3-year revenue plan.
  • Quarterly regional interlocks to ensure alignment on priorities, resource needs, product launch and control and software business performance. 
  • Launch of new products in coordination with global and regional product and marketing teams
  • Develop and manage sales enablement tools in support of thermal controls and software solutions.
  • Owns the thermal controls and software messaging globally to ensure consistency across regions as well as tailoring to meet specific end market and regional needs.
  • Ensure timely execution of new product development projects on budget.
  • Sustaining engineering to ensure quality, reliable supply, and cost-effective production of released products.
  • Understanding competition and differentiation of Vertiv Solutions. Developing tools for sales to support selling against competition. 
  • Understanding overall direct expansion systems market size globally, Vertiv share, and opportunities to drive growth for the product portfolio.
  • Collecting inputs from regional teams on market trends, opportunities, and customer needs as a key input into overall roadmap, product requirements and overall strategy.
  • Investigate and recommend new technologies or new market opportunities and serve as product visionary to drive game-changing products, strategy, and direction.
  • Further the advancement, functionality, and manufacturability of existing products
  • Ensure Product Development activity is in line with the strategy and direction of the business.
  • Regularly present the status of products and programs at quarterly team updates and executive business reviews.

  • Customer Focus: Work well with sales teams and customers to understand opportunities and latent needs to drive opportunities for innovation and differentiation. 

Requirements:

  • 15 years of relevant business experience in leading a product business segment with engineering and product management reports globally. 
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree. 
  • 5 years financial and business leadership experience. Master’s in business administration (MBA) preferred.
  • 10 years of product development experience of Direct Expansion thermal units from small 30-50 kW up to large systems 400-500 kW
  • Experience developing product strategy, roadmaps, positioning, and messaging globally.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • Ability to research, classify, prioritize requirements, communicate among stakeholders, and present ideas in an easily comprehensible manner.
  • Superior organizational and prioritization skills - ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic environment while managing associated stress.
  • Ability to deal with highly confidential information.
