About Very Good Manufacturing:

Very Good Manufacturing runs beverage production for leading alcohol & alcohol alternative brands. We specialize in distilled spirits and RTD cocktails, and our high speed canning and bottling lines accommodate all TTB approved sizes and fill levels. We have an on-site R&D Beverage Laboratory for private label concepting & formulation.

About the role:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Line Lead oversees operations of a high-energy production line team, producing high-quality beverages for various brands. This role is responsible for managing the machines, operations, and team members on the production line, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and production goals.

Additionally, the Production Line Lead supports the Production Manager in fostering continuous improvement and maintaining a positive work environment.

Compensation:

$20 - $26 per hour

What you'll do:

• Ensure the production line runs smoothly during the production shift, from start to finish.
• Become a subject matter expert on operating every machine on your production line.
• Train Production Team Members on your line to efficiently and safely operate each machine.
• Monitor production output, and make recommendations for continuous improvement (productivity, uptime, reliability) on your line.
• Ensure that required material is supplied to the production floor as according to the production schedule.
• Keep the line organized with the correct inventory to optimize production output.
• Communicate with Production Manager and Quality Control Techs over the course of the shift to manage inventory quantities and documentation.
• Ensure that finished goods are properly palletized from your line.
• Assist and/or train Production Team Members where necessary to follow SOPs for pack-out.
• Perform end-of-shift tasks and reports.
• Collaborate with your Production Manager and Maintenance Team regarding action items and follow-ups to keep every machine on the line in optimal condition.

What you'll bring:

• 1 - 2 years experience in food/beverage manufacturing.
• Above average mechanical proficiency with the capability to operate machinery on production/packaging lines.
• Desire to grow into leadership positions and develop leadership skills. Self-motivated to drive continuous improvement across the entire Production team.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Bonus Points:

• Experience safely using tools and machinery associated with trade and/or maintenance work.
• Experience with PLC programming.
• Experience with typical warehouse/manufacturing equipment, such as fillers, seamers, labelers, pallet jacks, and/or pumps and piping.
• Experience with operating a forklift.
