Founded in 1946, Vestal Manufacturing is located in Sweetwater, Tennessee. Vestal Manufacturing's facilities consist of a 103,000 square-foot foundry pouring Class 30-35 gray iron and a 105,000 square-foot steel-fabrication plant.

• Melting is accomplished in three 15-ton coreless furnaces.
• Daily capacity exceeds 120 tons.
• A fully automated FBO-III Sinto 20" x 26" molding machine and handling system that produces casting with unmatched quality.
• An automated Herman Moldmaster cope and drag machine offers a flask size of 34" x 44" can accept a wide variety of casting configurations.
• An automated International cope and drag machine offers a flask size of 34" x 54" and can accept a wide variety of casting configurations.
• An automated Pangborn shot blast cleaning system processes eight tons of castings per hour.
• During the entire process, lab checks are made on metal and casting sand to assure high quality finished products.

Job brief

We are looking for a responsible, driven, and hardworking Director of Maintenance to be part of our team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience within the maintenance field and in a supervisory or managerial position. This role will focus on overseeing the maintenance of grounds, managing staff, and collaborations with managers and heads from other departments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other department managers on projects and assignments.
• Develop efficient plans for the maintenance department in accordance with guidelines and regulations.
• Oversee the execution of daily and regular tasks for buildings and machinery in accordance with company standards and guidelines.
• Supervise and evaluate work of maintenance supervisor and other subordinate personnel.
• Develop a process to screen, hire, train and/or terminate staff in accordance with company standards and regulations.
• Develop a process for appraisals and performance reviews of department staff.
• Create an effective schedule for maintenance staff.
• Attend regular meetings with department heads to ensure goals and standards are being met.

Requirement

• Supplemented university courses in management, administration
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in management or supervisory roles would be essential
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance, repair, and/or construction role would be essential
• Excellent organizational skills; being able to work under pressure
• Substantial experience with development plans and implementation of procedures
• Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate with persons at all levels
• Superb leadership capabilities with a talent for delegating tasks to the best-suited staff member
