Vetcare Animal Wellness Clinic is a growing hospital located in Gahanna looking to add a head RVT to our team. We strive to provide compassionate and quality medical care to our patients, and excellent service to our clients. Our professional team believes in low stress and fear free handling of pets. We are fully computerized with on-site laboratory, digital radiography, ultrasonography, surgical suite and dentistry. A joyful team culture and respect for work life balance is important to us. There are no on-call or holiday obligations. You can expect to fully utilize your technical skill set in an environment that is committed to teaching, training, and supporting our techs while still having fun.

We are part of a 8 hospital group and are continuing to grow around Central Ohio. We have an amazing team and we are looking for the next head technician to join us!

The ideal candidate…

Our most successful technicians are detail oriented, have a knack for problem solving, are self-motivated, embrace their leadership role, a team player, and are able to prioritize and support hospital flow. Experience is a plus, but we are willing to train new graduates. Must be able to maintain accurate computerized medical records and communicate well with doctors, staff, and clients.

Primary responsibilities include:

· Surgical preparation and anesthetic monitoring

· Perform dental prophylaxis

· Venipuncture and IV catheter placement

· Run in house lab work including blood work, urinalysis, fecal and cytology sample interpretation

· Be able to safely restrain various sized dogs and cats, and lift up to 50 pounds

· Obtain quality digital radiographs

· Carry out diagnostic and treatment plans

· Patient intake and history taking

· Educate clients on services and patient care

· Appropriately handle various medications

· Data entry, point of sales, and answer phones

· Help maintain hospital cleanliness

Education: Associate degree in Veterinary Technology

Licensure: current active Ohio Registered Veterinary Technician license

Salary is negotiable based on experience.
