Job Title: Banking Operations Specialist-Client Onboarding
Location: Johnston, RI- Onsite
Pay Rate: $24.83/hr on W2
Duration: 5-month contract with extension

  • The team needs additional staff to roll out the private bank division due to an influx of volume.
  • There are three main areas: onboarding, operations, and client experience.
  • Focus for this role is onboarding: Tasks include opening accounts for consumers, commercials, small businesses, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
  • The role may require handling three different accounts with varying signers.
  • Experience with reviewing legal documents and account opening documentation is essential.
  • The right attitude is crucial, as the role involves navigating different systems and using tools like Daisy for document reference checks.
  • Ensuring all required documents are supplied and conducting follow-ups with relationship managers (RMs) and bankers is part of the process.
  • Interacting with clients and internal colleagues is common.
  • Qualifications and Skills:
  • A banking background is beneficial, but data analysts, legal professionals, or those experienced in mass onboardings from a CRM perspective can also excel.
  • Specific skills like AML and LexisNexis knowledge are leveraged.
  • Requests come through Smart IQ, and tools like Touchpoint and DDI are used for account opening and due diligence.
  • 3. Additional Details:
  • No degree requirement.
  • A standout candidate understands risk procedures, challenges policies when necessary, and aligns with best practices.
  • The workload involves processing 30-40 submissions daily, potentially translating to 80-90 accounts.
  • Individually, the goal is to handle 15 accounts per day.
  • Fraud background is not mandatory but can be helpful.
  • The team aims to iterate and expand operations to the back office.
  • Interviews will be conducted in short sessions (video, phone, or in person).
  • The role is hybrid, with onsite training followed by a mix of onsite (3 days) and remote work.

Description:

The Private Bank Ops specialist supports the on-boarding activities for the Private Bank, with an emphasis on operational excellence and superior service. This role contributes and champions process improvement ideas and a culture of continuous refinement and enhanced client experience.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Facilitates the Commercial deposit account opening process and account maintenance for the Private Bank, including blocked and controlled control accounts
  • Exceed customer expectations, by doing the right thing, and working together. Respond to internal/external customer inquiries within 24 hours. Escalate issues to management within 24 hours or raise at daily huddles. Suggest customer experience improvement opportunities as you identify them. Demonstrate ability and willingness to drive these to completion.
  • Applies and enforces risk mitigation controls
  • Escalates any exceptions to leadership and other concerned parties
  • Produces high quality output; completes quality management duties as assigned
  • Establishes requested accounts in the core system
  • Solves problems of varying complexity
  • Executes additional tasks as required

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 5 years relevant banking experience with an operations or customer service team
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Implementations, Client Services, TS Sales and RMs
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload to meet critical SLAs
  • Experience implementing change and process improvements
  • Effectively handles multiple priorities with efficiency and accuracy
  • Proficient in data entry
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective customer service skills
  • Fluency in Microsoft applications including advanced Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to understand technical aspects of product/service, both from a functionality perspective but also from an operations/setup perspective and be able to articulate it to a less technical audience (Client and Sales)
