About Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at VVSD:

The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at VVSD provides high-quality mental healthcare services accessible to all post-9/11 (including National Guard and Reserves), their families, and the families of active-duty service members including spouse or partner, children, parents, siblings, caregivers, and others.

Under the general direction of the Office Manager, Family Care Attendant provides childcare in a developmentally appropriate, positive, and safe program for children. Participates in activities with children and staff in a respectful way. Participates in beneficial trainings to promote a proactive and collaborative environment. Assists in light administrative tasks as needed.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this part-time position is $18.86 to $20.00 per hour.

What you will do:

• Maintains strict confidentiality concerning all participants and records protected under Federal Regulation
• Attends staff meetings to discuss progress and concerns for program and families.
• Attends required orientation and training and implement information into program.
• Knowledge of policies and procedures
• Knowledge of infant care, child psychology and/or early childhood behavior, growth, and development.
• Responsible for keeping childcare area neat, and clean while children are not present.
• Work closely with Business Office Manager to maintain daily schedule for childcare.
• Maintains the health and safety of the childcare area.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
•  Ability to use conflict resolution techniques with a variety of circumstances and individuals as able to use effective communication skills.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Flexible and can adjust schedule and or routine based on clinic's needs.
• Dependable and professional when serving clients and collaborating with colleagues.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in childcare.
• Experience with trauma informed care.
• Flexible and demonstrates patience and sensitivity to participant needs.
• Commitment to the mission of VVSD.
• Basic level on MS Excel, Email, and word processing programs.
• Ability to utilize Internet for resources.
• Previous experience in the mental health environment preferred.
