Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a First LevelManufacturing Manager to join our Operations Management Team in Heath, Ohio.
You will join a growing team responsible for leading, developing and executing business plans. During the daily execution of leadership responsibilities, you will interface with multiple organizations throughout the Boeing Company.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Manages employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines.
  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies.
  • Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position is for 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift. Candidates must be willing to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as required.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post Start is required.)

  • More than 3 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
  • More than 3 years of experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment.
  • More than 3 years of experience developing and implementing process improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Experience using LEAN Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement practices and tools.
Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. 4 years' related work experience).
Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Travel:Position may require travel up to 5% of the time.
