Under the direction of the Services Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operational management, programming, and maintenance of Keesler AFB Fitness facilities. Fitness Center operation includes fitness trails, courts, group exercise areas, one-on-one personal fitness training, fitness equipment areas, sauna rooms, showers, lockers, indoor and outdoor game courts, weight rooms, massage therapist, aerobic or group exercise areas, and equipment issue for patron utilization. ResponsibilitiesJob Duties
Oversee operations for Keesler AFB's three physical fitness centers in accordance with guidance provided in Air Force Instructions and contractual requirements to enhance readiness and provide recreational physical fitness support and programs to the community
Provides support to schedule and maintain records for sports leagues and tournaments as organized and scheduled based on customer demand
Manages indoor and outdoor maintenance for fitness center facilities and sports fields, performs building manager functions, oversees custodial contracts or services
Maintains accountability of fitness and sports center exercise equipment, maintains repair records, manages supply accounts
Manages a broad range of fitness equipment and plans procurement and lifecycle rotation plans
Provides supervisory oversight of facility attendant personnel, develops staff duty schedules, monitors and schedules training as required
Reviews and responds to customer comment cards, makes recommendations to improve operations
Performs other duties and assignments as required

Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field
Professional certification from a NCAA or DEAC accredited health/fitness organization
Must have at least three years of experience in the fitness industry in a managerial capacity
Must possess a valid state driver’s license
Must have ability to pass a national agency background check
Must have computer skills sufficient to utilize computer automated systems to perform assigned duties including Microsoft Office products
