VetPride Services is seeking a Shuttle Driver (Golf Cart Driver) in support of operations at the West Haven Veteran Hospital. We help to provide onsite transportation for Military Veteran patients. VetPride Services gives preference on hiring Veterans and Military personnel.

Location: West Haven Veteran Hospital, 950 Campbell Ave, West Haven, CT 06516

Shift: On-call, Monday-Friday

Hourly Rate: $17.20

Health & Welfare: $4.57/hr (as required by the SCA for the sole purpose of purchasing benefits.)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a pro manner upon their arrival/departure.
• Open doors, assist customers as needed with wheelchair or walker.
• Provide directions as needed.
• Safely operate various vehicles types to/from designated areas.
• Follow safe driving procedure and safety protocols at all times.
• Abide by all rules and regulations set by the VA.
• Report to duty in company issued uniform; personal hygiene and a professional appearance is expected at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Will be subject to a pre-employment criminal background and DMV check.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Regularly work outdoors in inclement weather including rain, snow, heat and cold.
• Must possess strong customer service skills and the ability to respond calmly and professionally when handling conflict.
• Consistent attendance and reliability required.
• Ability to understand, speak, and write basic English.
• Regularly stand for long periods (6-8 hours) and walk quickly.
• Ability to lift to 30 pounds.
• Must have the ability to work independently and within established guidelines, follow directions, and work well with others.
• Valid Driver's License.

Experience Requirements

• 1-year experience driving manual and automatic transmissions.
