0-5 Years of experience in a related field and a bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, environmental health, or a related field is required.

Certifications : Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) are preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES : The Safety Specialist Support Rep. plays a critical role in ensuring workplace safety, compliance with safety regulations, and the development of safety programs within an organization.

They are responsible for identifying and mitigating potential safety hazards, conducting training, and promoting a culture of safety.

Safety Program Management : Develop, implement, and manage safety programs and policies to ensure a safe work environment for employees.

Continuously review and update safety protocols to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Safety Inspections : Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and compliance issues.

Safety Training : Plan and deliver safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientations and ongoing safety training.

Ensure that employees are aware of and adhere to safety procedures, regulations, and best practices.

Incident Reporting and Investigation : Establish and oversee incident reporting procedures and conduct thorough investigations into accidents, near-misses, and safety violations.

Identify root causes and recommend preventive actions.

Regulatory Compliance : Stay current with local, state, and federal safety regulations and ensure the organization'

s compliance with these standards. Monitor changes in regulations and adapt safety programs accordingly.

Safety Communication : Promote a culture of safety within the organization by creating and distributing safety communications, posters, and reminders.

Encourage employees to actively participate in safety initiatives and report safety concerns.

Emergency Response Planning : Develop and maintain emergency response plans for various scenarios, such as fires, chemical spills, or natural disasters.

Coordinate drills and training sessions to prepare employees for emergencies.

Safety Data Analysis : Collect and analyze safety data and incident reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Use data-driven insights to implement targeted safety enhancements.

Safety Equipment and PPE : Ensure the availability and proper use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) across the organization.

Maintain inventory, conduct regular inspections, and recommend equipment upgrades as needed.

SKILL SETS & EXPERTISE :

Regulatory Knowledge : Profound knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards. Familiarity with industry-specific safety requirements.

Safety Management Systems : Expertise in safety management systems, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation.

Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey safety information and conduct training.

Data Analysis : Proficiency in data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement. Knowledge of safety management software is beneficial.

Problem-Solving Skills : Excellent problem-solving skills to assess and address safety concerns and recommend preventive actions.

Team Collaboration : Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence a culture of safety within the organization.

Emergency Response : Experience in emergency response planning, including drills and simulations.
