Serve as a mentor, nurse preceptor, performance consultant, and onboarding facilitator. Primarily responsible for onboarding new nurses in all hospice settings. Day to day clinical training visits or competency assessment visits. Demonstrate nursing services, competency, and education within the scope of practice as set forth by the North Carolina Board of Nursing or South Carolina Board of Nursing to individuals and their families in a homecare or a facility setting. Work with multiple service lines across regional offices contributing to the competency, productivity, and high performance of staff nurses. Teach case management and advise nurses in their role in managing the patient’s plan of care. Reinforce the importance of working with the interdisciplinary group to anticipate and meet patient needs. Will make competency assessment visits with new hires, existing nursing staff and nursing assistants to evaluate clinical competency and quality patient care.
Qualifications
  • A Diploma or associate degree in nursing is required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • A current, active, and unrestricted compact (multistate) license as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
  • The Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) allows a registered nurse (RN) and licensed practical/vocational nurse (LPN/LVN) to have one multistate license in a primary state of residency (the home state) and to practice in other compact states (remote states), while subject to each state’s practice laws and discipline.
  • Current CPR required; CHPN preferred.
  • Minimum 2-years hospice related, direct care of patients with life limiting illnesses required. Minimum of 3 years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Computer proficiency is required, experience with Homecare Homebase EMR a plus.
