What You’ll Do
- Perform accurate and safe locating of underground telecommunications cable/fiber
- Able to work independently to plan and prioritize activities to ensure maximum efficiency and timely completion of locates
- Read and understand locate tickets and the ticketing system
- Communicate with other team members and have strong communication with contractors
- This position will require you to at times be on call for emergency locates, which can include evenings, weekends, holidays
- Drive to job site in various locations throughout your area and surrounding areas
- You are at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license with good driving record
- You’re able to perform manual tasks requiring frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, walking & standing for long periods
- You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment
- You’re proficient with a computer and are quick to learn new technology
- You can lift at least 50 pounds
- You can work year-round outside in all elements
- You’re able to pass all pre-employment checks, including substance screening, criminal background, and motor vehicle record checks
- You can travel as needed, including overnights at times if a project warrants
- You have a strong attention to detail and a desire to advance
- Passion for accuracy and a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work on your own with strong time management skill.
