JOB SUMMARY

The Head of Merchandising will lead the Omni merchandising strategy and operations to drive product assortment, inventory management, and sales performance. This role involves overseeing a team of merchandising professionals, collaborating with various departments, and utilizing market insights to optimize product offerings and enhance the customer experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Merchandising Strategy:
• Develop and execute the overall merchandising strategy in alignment with company goals and market trends.
• Define and implement product assortment strategies that drive sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Product Planning:
• Oversee the planning and development of product ranges, ensuring a balanced and profitable assortment.
• Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to inform product selection and inventory levels.
• Inventory Management:
• Develop inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and reduce markdowns and obsolescence.
• Monitor inventory performance and make data-driven decisions to ensure product availability and minimize excess stock.
• Vendor & Supplier Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate terms, manage product quality, and ensure timely delivery.
• Evaluate and select vendors based on performance, quality, and cost considerations.
• Team Leadership:
• Lead, mentor, and manage the merchandising team, setting clear objectives and performance metrics.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance environment within the team.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with marketing, sales, and supply chain teams to align merchandising strategies with overall business objectives.
• Collaborate with design and product development teams to ensure product offerings meet market demand and brand standards.
• Market Analysis & Trend Forecasting:
• Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to identify new opportunities and emerging trends.
• Stay abreast of competitor activities and adjust merchandising strategies accordingly.
• Strong understanding of brand, category and trend performances in marketplace.
• Performance Tracking & Reporting:
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for merchandising activities and track performance against targets.
• Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on merchandising performance, inventory metrics, and market trends.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience:
• Proven experience (typically 12 years) in merchandising roles, with a significant portion in leadership positions.
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing merchandising strategies and managing teams.
• Skills:
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent strategic planning and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in Shopify, inventory management, product assortment planning, and vendor negotiation.
• Strong understanding of market trends and consumer behavior.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, multi-time zoned environment.
