Vibrant Humans HR Consulting, LLC is Hiring a HR Generalist Near Oakland, CA

Onsite HR Generalist

Location: Oakland, CA with occasional work in Sacramento, CA

Position Type: Full-Time, Salaried

Overview: Vibrant Humans HR Consulting is assisting an Oakland-based security company in hiring an experienced and detail-oriented Onsite HR Generalist. This role will manage comprehensive HR functions at their Oakland, CA office, with occasional work in Sacramento. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of HR generalist experience, particularly in environments with a manual labor or hourly workforce, preferably in security or construction. A strong background in employee relations, compliance, and process development is essential, along with the ability to adapt quickly to change. Candidates should reside in the Bay Area or the Greater Sacramento Area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and enhance the safety program to ensure a secure and compliant work environment.
  • Oversee all workers' compensation claims, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Maintain OSHA compliance and proactively address safety concerns.
  • Ensure I-9 compliance and adherence to Federal and State Labor programs.
  • Conduct HR investigations and assist in documentation as needed.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
  • Manage employee files, training records, and HR software such as Paychex, time attendance, and background checks.
  • Respond to government inquiries and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager and report directly to the CEO.
  • Oversee most aspects of the People Function, excluding Recruitment.
  • Strategic partners include Sr. Recruiter, Ops Manager, and HR/Ops Associate.
  • Work weekends and/or nights based on business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources (Required).
  • HR certifications are a plus.
  • 3-6 years of generalist experience, with a preference for experience supporting security or construction companies.
  • Experience with employee relations and compliance.
  • Startups experience or experience in environments with room to develop processes.
  • Comfortable with change and able to adapt quickly.
  • Working knowledge of Paychex is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Availability for occasional weekend or night work.
  • Experience with advanced Google Suite.
  • Previous experience with HR investigations and compliance.
  • Candidates should reside in the East Bay or between Sacramento and the East Bay.

Physical Demands:

  • Sitting for long periods.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing for at least 4 hours in a stationary place.
  • Willingness to travel 30% of the time.

Compensation:

  • Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour.
