Job Function Reporting into the Senior Operations Director, the Plant Manager will be based out of Ashtabula, Ohio and will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations at our Ashtabula facility. The ideal candidate will have strong experience leading turnaround manufacturing plants and being a transformational change agent. The successful candidate should possess considerable experience in significant manufacturing improvements, particularly in alignment with broader growth initiatives. This involves demonstrating the ability to establish a highly adaptable and flexible manufacturing operation. Responsibilities Responsible for developing manufacturing operating plans in accordance with company policies, goals, and objectives. Links established processes and leadership execution in the areas of Safety, Health and Environmental in keeping with the company’s proud legacy of attention to safety, the environment, and the communities in which it exists. Delivers operational excellence through optimizing capacities, total cost effectiveness and value to the customer base. Ensures operation plans achieve targeted cost and efficiency results that maximize value for the business unit. Optimizes capital expenditures to sustain operations, drive SH&E value, and deliver growth products. Promotes structured continuous improvement utilizing methodologies such as Lean and Executes plans for quality and process excellence that ensures consistent quality assurance and process excellence procedures, controls, and feedback. Ensures adequate people development plans and capable succession plans are in place. Promotes employee engagement initiatives to increase employee satisfaction. Designs, develops, and implements production systems to meet customer requirements. Manages productivity and efficiencies using metrics and continuous improvement protocol. Required Experience Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of industrial experience in manufacturing leadership positions within a plant environment OR 15 years of industrial experience in a manufacturing leadership position. Demonstrated success in developing and executing manufacturing strategies and optimizing operations to achieve cost reductions and productivity gains while operating in a demanding customer environment. Knowledge of computers, inventory systems, quality systems, OSHA & EPA requirements, and ERP P&L responsibility experience Experience in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry Preferred Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related discipline Experience in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry Lean Six Sigma Certification Experience in a Union Environment Experience in sites that are ISO 9000/NSF certified.
