BILLING CLERK
Vigilante Security, located in Troy, MI, is seeking an experienced Billing Clerk. We are a leader in the security industry; family-owned and based in Michigan for over 30 years. Due to steady growth, we are adding this full-time position to our accounting team.
Responsibilities for this position are, but not limited to:
- Generate and send invoices using a computerized billing system
- Ensure that invoices are accurately and timely billed
- Resolve customer billing and accounts receivable inquiries
- Maintain and update confidential customer files and billing information
- Provide support to other departments
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Physical demands of position: sit, stand, walk and bend for filing. Employee will occasionally lift or carry up to 15 pounds
The ideal Billing Clerk candidate must meet the following requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent
- 2 years of experience generating invoices using an automated billing system
- Possess a high level of competency in working with numbers
- Ability to follow instructions
- Strong interpersonal skills and a cooperative attitude
- Experience providing exceptional customer service
- Pay meticulous attention to detail
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Have experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to manage time and determine priorities
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisor, and manager
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel
- Previous experience in security industry or construction billing a plus
- Experience using office equipment (copier, scanner, fax machine, postage machine, 10-key calculator)
