POSITION SUMMARY:

Our organization is looking for a Financial Systems Manager to support Applications & Integrations, identify and implement process improvement and use their vision to plan for the future. This position will problem-solve financial and operational challenges to create efficiency and scalability within our systems, sustain innovation, and develop processes that keep our company moving forward. The individual must have knowledge of accounting/finance and technology to lead and collaborate with internal stakeholders at all levels, and will function as the accounting/finance business analyst and functional expert for the company’s ERP system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the overall scope and type of responsibilities)

  • Support and optimize all third party applications and integrations within our financial systems (IFS, UKG Dimensions, Tableau, DataWarehouse)
  • Owner of our financial systems roadmap (migrations, new implementations, additional functionality).
  • Work with a diverse population of internal customers and stakeholders at all levels within the organization. Foster a collaborative environment for cross-functional communication. Liaise closely with the IT department and 3rd party consultants to execute solutions.
  • Lead the identification, develop and documentation of controls and standards to ensure integrity of data protection with respect to user roles within our financial systems.
  • Lead ongoing analysis to monitor segregation of duty conflicts within our ERP system.
  • Plan and execute actions to support the needs for our ERP system.
  • Identify and implement system design improvements and enhancements to support changing data and reporting requirements.
  • Proactively monitor the health and integrity of our financial applications while establishing standards for their use and ensuring compliance.
  • Write ad-hoc queries and reports to the finance and accounting team’s specifications to aid in analyzing ERP data and resolving discrepancies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and failures that impact the business, with a primary focus on critical accounting and finance processes.
  • Educate and foster the development of financial systems acumen amongst the accounting and finance teams.
  • Build and mentor a team that leads projects to improve the quality of data and reporting used to manage our business.

JOB SCOPE:

Operates within general parameters, but must use sound judgment and independent decision making when carrying out job responsibilities. Has a thorough understanding of the ERP system and the vision to develop process improvements, seek to automate routine functions and develop efficiencies to meet the changing needs of the organization. The role reports to the Corporate Controller.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Has direct supervisory responsibility for the financial reporting team. Provides ongoing technical support and training related to the ERP system to transactional accounting and other user groups.

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:

This position coordinates his/her efforts with employees, managers and supervisors at all levels within the organization and represents the Company through formal and informal interactions with various external contacts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience with IFS ERP and Tableau strongly preferred
  • Project management skills with a strong sense of ownership and drive, including a desire to dive into the details, analyze the data and find solutions. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Exercises good judgment and make accurate and timely decisions.
  • Uses initiative to identify and overcome roadblocks, tolerates ambiguity, stays focused and productive, even in challenging situations, stands up for beliefs, even if unpopular, willing to disagree and commit when appropriate.
  • Ability to conceptualize and effectively communicate technical issues to a broad audience.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, theories and methods of accounting.
  • Strong informal influencer skills; the ability to succeed in accomplishing tasks when the performers are not necessarily in the direct line of authority.
  • Skilled at managing multiple and often conflicting priorities and deadlines, with the ability to multitask in a fast paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Work as a team player and exhibit a high degree of flexibility, energy, and positive attitude.
  • Strong customer service skills; the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, as an individual contributor and as part of a team.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

BA/BS degree in Accounting is required. Minimum 8 years of increasingly responsible experience with emphasis on accounting systems and process development (preferably in an industrial environment). Experience using, maintaining and auditing accounting systems and procedures in a large corporate environment. Advanced Excel skills required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:CPA would be a plus, but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced hybrid environment (1-2 days per week in office, or as needed for in-person meetings, and otherwise remote). The person may be required to be in production areas in yard and onboard ships. He/she must be able to walk to and from job sites. He/she may be required to work more than 8-hour shifts and weekend work. There may be out-of-town travel (including air travel) up to 1-3 weeks a year with notice. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
