Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CAD Design and Automation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating 3D drawings and designing end of arm tooling for parts handling robots as well as fixturing components and other automated processes. The individual in this position will also work as part of an automation team that supports all aspects of manufacturing.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

• Manage and Organize CAD files
• Create 3D drawings from 2D sketches in CAD software
• Revise established drawings as needed to reflect design changes
• Attend development meetings as requested
• Design End of Arm tooling
• Spec out purchased components
• Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation (drawings, BOM, design parameters) for future reference
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot automated production systems
• Provide system operation training on assigned automation systems as needed
• Order supplies as directed by department
• Work with other departments to ensure all equipment is in condition to meet customer production requirements
• Maintain work areas in professional manner
• Participate and lead in our Culture of Continuous Improvement

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• CAD Modeling (Solid Works)
• Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting
• Experience with industrial robots and EOAT development
• Capable of reading and understanding electrical schematics and performing wiring tasks based on those prints
• PLC programming knowledge preferred
• Knowledge in control circuits
• Experience with Microsoft Office software

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT/CERTIFICATION:

• Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
