JOB SUMMARY

As a Raw Materials Buyer for our Charcuterie Brands, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing essential materials, including raw ingredients, packaging, produce, seasonings, labels, and more. Your efforts will ensure seamless integration with our production needs, contributing to the overall success of Village Gourmet.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sourcing & Vendor Management:

  • Develop and execute plant-specific sourcing strategies.
  • Evaluate and source alternative ingredients to optimize quality and reduce costs.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production needs while minimizing excess stock.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to ensure accurate inventory records and implement best practices

Order Fulfillment:

  • Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
  • Coordinate with logistics and warehousing to guarantee on-time delivery of materials.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

  • Align supply chain activities with plant objectives by working closely with plant managers, production planners, and other departments.
  • Support new product launches by securing raw materials and ensuring their timely availability.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Track and report on procurement and raw material inventory performance metrics.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

SALARY RANGE

$80,000 - $90,000 annually, based on job-level experience. Also, this role is eligible for a quarterly bonus program.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of procurement experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in procurement software, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPM, CSCP).
    • Experience with ERP systems.
    • Knowledge of food safety and regulatory requirements.
    • Experience with commodity food buying markets and strategic purchasing decisions.

WORK ENVIORNMENT

  • 100% remote role, requiring candidates to work normal business hours that operate on Eastern Standard Time.
  • Regular communication and interaction with production staff, warehouse personnel, and external vendors.

SCHEDULE

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm EST, with occasional extended hours for special projects. 100% remote role, requiring candidates to work normal business hours that operate at Eastern Standard Time.
