The Elementary ESE Teacher (K-5) is responsible for the education of each pupil in his or her charge and for working with students, parents, other teachers and staff toward achieving the goals set forth in the Village of Excellence Academy mission statement.

(1) Open Position for Elementary ESE Teacher - (K-5)

Minimum qualifications:

• B.A. or B.S. required; Must be eligible and apply for Certification in Florida;
• Prefer at least 2 years elementary classroom teaching experience;
• Prefer prior teaching experience in a Title I school;
• Demonstrated experience working with challenging groups in a student-centered environment with varied approaches to meeting student needs;
• Demonstrated initiative and skills in the following areas: relationship and community building, classroom management, communication, conflict resolution, creativity, problem solving, decision making and time management.
• Preferred experience with case management and LEA responsibilities in a school setting.

Salary:

Certified: $47,500.00 yearly

Responsibilities
- Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with developmental disabilities

-Oversee Child Study Team and the MTSS process.
- Utilize classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment
- Plan and deliver lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to ensure the success of each student
- Provide behavioral therapy and support to students as needed.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies accordingly
- Incorporate literacy and math education into lesson plans to promote academic growth
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in special education
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom community that values diversity and individual differences.

-Coordinate IEP's for ESE students, 504 plans as well as ESOL plans for ELL students.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $47,500.00 per year
