Village of Los Lunas is Hiring a Truck Driver/Equipment Operator Near Los Lunas, NM
Position Summary: The Truck Driver/Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of equipment, including skid steers, front-end loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, and other heavy equipment, to support the Streets Division in various maintenance and construction activities. This role also involves driving semi-trucks and hauling heavy equipment as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, front-end loaders, backhoes, and dump trucks.
Drive semi-trucks for hauling heavy equipment to job sites.
Use utility line locators to identify and mark underground utilities.
Operate pick-up trucks with goose-neck trailers for equipment transportation.
Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all equipment.
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.
Adhere to safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment.
Assist with other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certificate.
3 years of experience in heavy equipment operation.
Valid Class B New Mexico Driver’s License.
Public Applicators License.
Certified Utility Locator.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in operating a variety of heavy equipment.
Strong understanding of safety procedures and guidelines.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
Working Conditions:
This role involves outdoor work in various weather conditions.
Physical demands may include bending, lifting, and extended periods of standing or sitting while driving.
