Job Description The EPIC Cadence Training role works with the training team and application analysts to develop, facilitate, and maintain the training program for clinical and non-clinical staff. This position focuses on delivering training and offering ongoing assistance to maximize user proficiency and efficiency. In addition to training end users predominantly in a classroom setting, the role is responsible for communicating training policies and procedures within the EHR for the organization's end users. This role is considered the team subject matter expert in concepts and training needs in EPIC Cadence. Not already an Epic Cadence credentialed trainer? We can facilitate acceptance into a training program for you. You can step into the Epic Cadence training role after your successful completion of a rigorous credentialing program meeting Epic’s detailed requirements for a trainer including having to present in front of a panel of experts to demonstrate Epic knowledge, ability to handle questions, and classroom teaching style. Join our team where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the effective adoption and use of Epic by providing hands-on instruction and continuous support to end users. The value you’ll bring to the team: Conduct new hire and continuing education training sessions for clinical and non-clinical end users in both in-person and virtual settings Developing and maintaining role‐based training content along with instructional materials, using a variety of software programs, tools, and applications. Maintaining policy and procedure documentation surrounding new functionality and standard workflow to reflect best practices. Incorporating feedback from others into existing training and training administration procedures Learning new content and consulting with subject matter experts to develop training materials and answer any participant questions Setting up the training room and environment prior to the training session, including prepping any necessary materials Training staff and end users by teaching technical and organizational topics as needed Managing projects by handling multiple priorities and by creating and adhering to timelines Following up with trainees outside of the classroom to offer additional support. Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work activities &ensure that they are completed accurately, efficiently, and timely Being cooperative and approachable and taking time to listen to and address others' questions or concerns Actively assess learner understanding and effectively address knowledge gaps using appropriate strategies for an adult learning environment Administer proficiency assessments and class evaluations, providing input for continuous improvement Assist with accurate tracking of end user attendance, course completion, and testing Coach Super Users and end users on application and workflow content and best practices to enhance proficiency and performance Collaborate with application analysts to identify and resolve issues Provide on-call support during scheduled times, as needed Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with all levels of the organization Educates and coaches end users in utilizing Epic EHR, which will include telephone support (Monday through Friday and occasional on-call weekend support), assigned projects, classroom training, live webinars, and go-live and elbow support Perform other assigned training tasks when not delivering training necessary for training support to end users to include but not limited to ticket assignment, documenting training completion of end users, post activation security template requests, etc Actively participate in team meetings to discuss team and project related activities, work tasks, and issues Cross train in all applications supported by the EHR training program Administer post-live refresher, optimization, and skills-enhancement training Promotes system security, patient confidentiality and helps ensure compliance standards are upheld. The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: Bachelor’s degree EpicCare Cadence Trainer Certification or ability to complete within 90 days 2 years experience in Informatics and Training of applications preferred Experience in project planning and curriculum management. One (1) year prior experience in a healthcare related setting preferred One (1) year of EMR experience preferred Experience in presentations to small and large groups in classroom environments, along with one-on-one training; previous experience in healthcare EMR training preferred Effective communication strategies Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely to trainers and trainees when speaking and in writing, adjusting materials to audience Experience leading job shadowing as a training method Ability to deliver technology training using multiple resources simultaneously (Microsoft PPT, Word, and Teams; Epic; internet) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities for success: Strong verbal communication, presentation, and public speaking skills Knowledge of organizational workflows Epic system knowledge Strong interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to changing curriculum Demonstrates flexibility with respect to required changes in training content and delivery methods Comfortable with technology required to perform job duties (computer with dual monitors, PowerPoint, video software, etc). Cooperative and approachable and take time to listen to and address others’ questions or concerns. Ability to build rapport easily.
